By SLTA

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA), under the guidance of Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information, continued its series of meetings with community Jazz hosts across the island on Friday, February 7th, emphasising the strategic vision for the upcoming 2025 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival.

The meeting, which welcomed representatives from various host communities, centered on the integral role of supporting events within the broader festival experience. Emphasizing the importance of maintaining a cultural and arts-driven focus, participants discussed the significance of these events in shaping the festival’s identity and appeal. “We are delighted to see the strong commitment from our host communities, who are passionate about preserving the cultural and artistic integrity of the festival,” said Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire. “These community-based events are an essential part of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, and we are focused on fostering their growth while ensuring that they align with the festival’s core values.”

The host communities for the 2025 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival include Monchy, Babonneau, Bexon, Dennery, Micoud, Anse la Raye, Desruisseaux, Vieux Fort and Soufriere. Notably, Micoud will host for the first time and will play a pivotal role in expanding the festival’s cultural scope. Host communities will receive financial and marketing support from the SLTA as they work to deliver high-quality jazz and arts experiences that showcase local talent and creativity.

A key focus of the discussions was the festival’s green logo to support the 2025 theme of Sustainability. Host communities are encouraged to set the tone for longevity of the brands, adopt eco-friendly practices, including proper waste disposal, reusable and biodegradable materials, and minimizing environmental impact.

As the festival progresses to 2025, it remains committed to celebrating music, promoting culture and sustainability, and showcasing local talent on a global stage as a premier Caribbean event.
