Saint Lucia’s D'Andre Calderon Shines in Regional Table Tennis, Claims Senior Open Title and Secures Third in Under-21

Saint Lucia's top-ranked men's singles table tennis player and reigning Player of the Year, D'Andre Calderon, demonstrated why he holds this title after competing in a senior tournament and finishing third in another event in neighboring Saint Vincent and the Grenadines this past weekend.
In quarter-final action in the Under -21 championship, Calderon defeated Mdjai Collymore (Barbados) 4-nil, set scores: 11-4, 11-3, 11-2, 11-9.
He had a tough semifinal encounter versus Derron Douglas (Trinidad and Tobago), losing 4-3, set scores: 9-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-5, 9-11, 12-10, 10-12.
For the third-place silver, he defeated Lamont Gregg, 4-nil, set scores: 11-2, 11-2, 11-2, 11-6.
In the senior open tournament, Calderon emerged as champion defeating Trevor Farley of Barbados 4-1 in the final. Set scores: 11-7, 11-3, 9-11, 11-5, 11-6.
In the round of 16, Calderon made light work of Selwyn Sinnette (Trinidad and Tobago) 4-nil, set scores: 11-4, 11-3, 11-5, 11-5.
He had a similar margin of victory over Damion Dublin, 4-nil in the quarterfinal, set scores: 11-8, 11-, 11-1, 11-6, 11-3.
