Sandals To Choc Roundabout Road Widening Gets Thumbs Up

Press Release:–  In the spirit of transparency and public accountability, the Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy hosted a Stakeholders Consultation to discuss the Sandals to Choc Roundabout Road Widening Project on July 12, 2019.

This gathering provided business interests in the vicinity of the project site, along with the minibus and taxi sector and utility companies, an opportunity to first learn about the project and secondly share their suggestions and concerns with the Project Coordinating Team.

Permanent Secretary Mr. Ivor Daniel said the Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy values the importance of stakeholder engagement to the success of every project. 

There are several businesses both commercial and private in the vicinity of the project site. 

Chief Engineer Mr. Albert Jn. Baptiste has assured all stakeholders that Engineers will work diligently to address their needs and concerns throughout all phases pf the project.

He said public safety will remain of paramount priority.

The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Energy extends appreciation to Sandals International for supporting Government`s vision by allocating a substantial amount of its private property for the project.

Special gratitude also to the many stakeholders for supporting this very important intervention.

The Sandals to Choc Roundabout Road Widening Project seeks to reduce traffic congestion and travel delays while improving road safety.
