The Ministry of Education today, at a press conference, allayed the fears of the general public and education stakeholders as it announced that Schools will remain opened amidst concerns of rising cases of Covid-19.
Education Minister Hon Shawn Edward who addressed the press thanked stakeholders for their continued support and concern for the children of this nation, who have lost out much on instruction because of the continued pandemic. The Minister said that the decision to keep schools open was carefully determined with recommendations from the Ministry of Health, and that the Ministry stands ready to make any necessary adjustments if health officials conclude otherwise.
Officials of the Ministries of Education and Health present at the press conference called on all Saint Lucian to play their part in following the protocols, thereby contributing to the lowering of Covid-19 cases on island.
