Dear Brothers and sisters, I greet to you in the name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Brethren, let me thank you for your steadfast faith in the Lord and the commitment you have demonstrated to God’s church during these difficult pandemic times.
As you are aware, the increase community spread of the coronavirus with more infectuous variants presently recorded in St. Lucia, the island has been experiencing very high positive cases almost on a daily basis. St. Lucia has also recorded over 132 coronavirus-related deaths with many persons currently at home and at the respiratory hospital.
Brethren, since the fouth wave of the virus, many of our churches have had to be closed, some for more than two weeks due to members and their family who have been afflicted with the coronavirus. Unfortunately, some of our members have also passed away with covid-related complications. I express sincere condolences to the many families who have lost loved ones to this deadly virus.
Brothers and sisters, considering these high positive cases and the various sectors that have been affected throughout the island, we have taken a decision to close our churches for the next two Sabbaths: September 18th & 25th, 2021. Whereas the island is not under a shutdown, I believe we have a God-given responsibility to be wise and proactive in taking decisions that will help protect our members the best we can. We will monitor the conditions on the ground and will decide after September 25th, 2021, the best way forward for the safety of all.
On the same note brethren, Pastors will be working with families in reducing the number of attendees at our funeral services due to the current upsurge of the pandemic. Let us please cooperate with our Pastors for the continued safety of everyone.

Meanwhile, I encourage you to follow our services on the Mission’s virtual platform where we will put together programs that will specifically meet the needs of the church at this time. I have encouraged our Pastors to also do their best in reaching out to all members as they minister to your needs under the circumstances.
Let us be extra cautious as the spread of the virus is serious and is claiming many lives. Whereas, we are concerned about the spiritual nurture and growth of our members, we are also equally concerned about your life and safety and that of your family.
I admonish you to spend quality time in prayer with your family and remember to join the Mission’s Morning Manna, hour of prayer every morning on zoom and experience God’s power and blessings in your life.

Brothers and sisters, I believe like never before we must pay heed to the words of Jesus as recorded in Luke 21:28, “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” May the Lord bless and keep you as we navigate these through these difficult times.

Sincerely,

Pastor Roger Stephen
President
