Several people arrested for hurling missiles at the police in Soufiere

Several people arrested for hurling missiles at the police in Soufiere which occurred Sunday night. The bar owner were also arrested.

Police disclosed that they have arrested the bar owner and some ten other people and plans to arrest more  people.

Police also said the bar owner appeared not to have a liquor licence and as a result the bar’s alcohol were seized.

Police were investigating a report that a bar and its patrons were violating  covid-19 protocols.

Upon arrival police saw carnival like activities going on. After officers came from the bar, some individuals began throwing missiles at the police damaging the police vehicle.

The police called for backup but they had the situation under control by the time backup arrived. A video posted on social media police in riot gear.
