Son arrested after his mother got chopped and stabbed in La Toc

Police are investigating a incident where a male individual allegedly stabbed and chopped his mother in La Toc, Castries on Monday morning at about 7 am.
The victim son said “I was at work my sister called me told me my mother screaming and stuff so I rushed down. When I reached there, she was in a pool of blood. My brother stand up right there watching her".
He disclosed that his mother sustained head and stomach injuries. He said he suspected that his brother, who had a mental problem.
"This is just a sad situation. After all this lady has been through with her late husband. This was definitely not the news I expected to get this morning," One resident told St Lucia News Now.
She was transported to OKEU in a critical condition via ambulance.
Police arrested her son in connection with this incident.
