First female police commissioner appointed

Congratulations to Mrs. Crusita Descartes-Pelius on her appointment as the Commissioner of Police (COP) (Ag.). Her training and 34 years of service to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) have readied her for this critical position of leadership at a time when the region faces a number of security threats, especially gun violence.
I would also like to thank Mr. Milton Desir for his service to our country during his tenure as COP and I wish him well during his retirement.
I will continue to support the RSLPF by allocating funding for training and the other necessary resources to ensure the safety and quality of life of citizens.
Let us also play our part to support the work of the police.
