St.Lucia Fire Service Weekend Incidents.

On Friday 2 June April at approximately 4:20 p.m., the Fire Service
received a call informing of a mass casualty incident at Ciceron. The
nature of the incident was reported as an over turned minibus.
The responding officers found three persons on the scene who were
involved in the incident. By standers reported to fire personnel that
several persons had been transported prior to their arrival.
The three patients who sustained various injuries to their bodies were
transported to the OKEU hospital for further care.
There, they were handed over to medical personnel in a stable condition.
A response was made from the Babonneau Fire Station to Corinth, for
a head on collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle at
approximately 7:05 p.m. on Saturday June 3.
The arriving personnel found an individual, who was identified as the rider
of the motorcycle complaining of pain to his hip. A rapid assessment
revealed that the patient sustained injuries to the area. He was immobilized
on a spine board and provided rapid emergency transportation to the OKEU
Hospital for further care.
On Sunday June 4, emergency personnel at the Gros Islet Fire Station
responded to an alleged shooting incident at Garrand in Babboneau at
approximately 6:55 p.m.
The responding officers found in the presence of the police a male individual
lying on the ground. A rapid assessment revealed that he was void of vital
signs and that he sustained several penetrating wound to his body. Due to
the obvious signs of death, the scene was left in the care of the police
officers.
A female individual was also found on the scene with penetrating wounds to
her body. She was transferred to an awaiting ambulance where emergency
medical care was provided en route to a medical facility.
