Six members of the St. Lucia National Boxing Team
will depart the island on Wednesday March 26, en-route to the Caribbean Trophy Boxing Tournament in
Guadeloupe.

President of the St. Lucia Boxing Association David “Shakes” Christopher is confident of the team`s
performance, following weeks of strategic preparation. According to Christopher “the French Territories
are traditionally a good Stomping Ground for St. Lucia boxers who have recorded good success and on
this occasion we expect nothing less for this team of seasoned athletes, especially following recent
showing at the AMBC Caribbean Boxing Championships”. He also encouraged St. Lucians living in
Guadeloupe to come support the national team March 27 – 29 at the Gymnase Laura Flessel in Petit-
Bourg.
During the visit to Guadeloupe, the President is expected to host key bi-lateral meetings with the
administrators of boxing in the French Overseas Territories.
The aim is to discuss areas of mutual interest and corporation for future development of boxing in
individual countries and the revival of the Creole Boxing Championships.
