Sugar to arrive in St Lucia today
By SNN
According to the Minister for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Emma Hippolyte, a shipment of sugar will be arriving in St Lucia today.
St Lucia have been rationing brown and refined sugar because there is a shortage. The ministry has been experiencing periodic delays of bulk supplies of refined and brown sugar due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The minister said, ''we need to manage the supplies of what we have because of the challenges with shipping. So now, the staff are working hard to get all our suppliers in line when we expect the shipment and things like that. But we are receiving a shipment today, and we still have sugar in our house''.
