Suspected drowning in Vieux Fort

The Emergency officials responded to a report of a suspected drowning which occurred in Sandy Beach, Vieux Fort on Saturday at about 5:48 pm.

The deceased is identified as 57 year old Delbert Ferdinand, a resident of Praslin.

According to reports, Delbert encountered difficulties in the seas. Onlookers attempted to saved him but could not.

He was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

Several photos were posted on social media show the lifeless body on the beach.
