The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force Hosts Successful Crime Scene Training
By RSPF
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is pleased to announce that it has successfully hosted a five-day Forensic Science Techniques and Crime Scene Management Workshop, which was held from Monday, September, 25th to Friday, September 29th, 2023. This workshop was held at the Police Force Academy and it targeted Crime Scene Officers and Investigators. Twenty-three officers benefited from this workshop, which was facilitated by Forensic Science Instructors from the National Police of France.
The aim of the workshop was to strengthen the technical knowledge of investigators in managing a crime scene. The objectives of the workshop were:
- To illustrate how forensic science provides scientific, robust, reliable, and verifiable clues that help reduce uncertainty in investigations. These clues are pivotal in meeting the standard of proof required in criminal cases.
- To implement innovative operational methodologies and developmental approaches by Crime Scene officers to enable formal identification of all offenders.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force is committed to providing its officers with the necessary training and resources to effectively carry out their duties. This workshop was part of that commitment and will help equip investigators with the skills needed to better serve their communities.
