The Saint Lucia Marketing Board introduced curbside produce delivery as a means of creating a more convenient shopping experience for customers

The service is available to the public at the Saint Lucia Marketing Board’s (SLMB) retail outlet in Castries. Only recently opened in the location which once housed Meats & More, the SLMB offers high-quality, fresh produce at affordable prices.

“We appreciate that while many Saint Lucians would like to eat healthily, they are extremely busy persons. Sometimes it is hard for them to head into the city, find parking in Castries, and shop from our shelves. This is why we decided to introduce curbside pickup for produce boxes, making the shopping process easier and making the experience more enjoyable,” notes Vincent La Corbiniere, General Manager of the Saint Lucia Marketing Board.

Historically, the Saint Lucia Marketing Board served as an outlet for farmers to sell their produce which was often subsequently exported.

After running into a series of challenges in past years, the new leadership of the SLMB is prepared to take the necessary steps to breathe new life into the entity.

“Since opening the SLMB’s new retail location in February 2023, we are really pleased with the public’s patronage. In fact, the store is not just popular with Saint Lucians, but among cruise visitors. We are priding ourselves on providing high-quality, seasonal produce in a comfortable shopping environment. This initiative is only the beginning, as we intend to roll out more exciting services. At the heart of every decision that we make are the farmers who expect to benefit from a working relationship with the SLMB,” shares Sunita Daniel, Chair of the Saint Lucia Marketing Board.

The SLMB’s retail outlet offers a wide variety of products including fruits and vegetables, ground provisions and agro-processed items including sauces and vegetable chips.
