Update on Homicide at Monier (Sofia Gabriela Munoz Pocon) .

On Thursday September 26, about 8:10pm p.m., the Gros-Islet Police Station received and
responded to a report of homicide at Monier, located in Gros-Islet. This incident claimed the life of
Sofia Gabriela Munoz Pocon; a 24-year-old Guatemalan national. A male suspected was arrested, following the initiation of investigations into the matter. A post mortem examination was conducted upon the body, which revealed that she died as a result of multiple stab wounds to the neck and body.
As a consequence, Jared Bovelle, a twenty-four (24) year old resident of Beausejour, Gros Islet,
was formally charged for causing the death of Sofia Gabriela Munoz Pocon. He is currently
remanded in police custody, pending a bail hearing.
