Update on the Norbert Road closure

The Department of Infrastructure, Ports and Transport wishes to inform the motoring public that effective Tuesday, March 26, the Norbert Road will be closed at the junction with the Corinth bypass road extending to the intersection with the Assou Canal/Vieux Sucrieux road.

The closure is necessary to facilitate the reconstruction of a failed gabion basket wall.

As a result, the Assou Canal road will be used as a one-way route, south bound, for private and lightweight vehicles only. All other vehicles must utilize the main highway.

Residents of Norbert residing to the north of the work site will access their homes via Vieux Sucrieux. Motorists traveling to the north are encouraged to use the main thoroughfare and alternative routes.
