UVM student researchers visit Saint Lucia

By Ministry of Commerce

A group of student researchers from the University of Vermont (UVM) are currently on island conducting surveys on consumer perceptions of the current water supply.
The group, which includes UVM faculty and student researchers, will pay a courtesy call to the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday, January 8. The 9:30 a.m. session will take place at the Conference Room of the Ministry of Commerce (fourth floor, Heraldine Rock Building, Castries Waterfront).
UVM has had a longstanding relationship with the CAD which has allowed for the undertaking of various research and philanthropic projects throughout the island, since the establishment of a Mutual Cooperation Agreement in 2004.
In the past, CAD staff have pursued short-term courses in the Consumer Assistance Program and Research Techniques and Methods at the UVM and continue to benefit from in-country training sessions in Consumer Law, Research Techniques and Methods, Report Writing and more recently Data Analytics delivered by the university's lecturers.
The students' survey findings will be presented during a closing ceremony scheduled for Friday, January 10 at 10 a.m., at the Coco Palm Resort in Rodney Bay.

The Consumer Affairs Department (CAD) of the Ministry of Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives and Consumer Affairs wishes to extend an official invitation to provide media coverage of the January 8 session, and at the University of Vermont (UVM) Projects Presentation Closing Ceremony  on January 10.
