The United Workers Party held its National Council meeting yesterday, Sunday February 28. During the virtual event which took place via Zoom the Council ratified the nominations of two candidates who will contest in Saint Lucia’s next general elections.

The successful candidates are Mr. Vincent London who will contest in the constituency of Vieux Fort North, and Senator Hermangild Francis in Vieux Fort South.

Both candidates were selected by unanimous vote of the council members.

Party Leader Allen Chastanet congratulated the successful candidates, and urged them to work in the interest of the people of their respective communities. He said that the United Workers Party has a long history of working to create opportunities for all Saint Lucians.

Yesterday’s National Council Meeting was the first ever to be held virtually with each Constituency Branch logging in from their individual communities.
