Gros Islet Friday Night cancelled because of Kenson Casimir’s Arrogance and Incompetence

Over the last week, vendors in the town of Gros Islet could be overheard questioning whether the street party which was announced by Parliamentary Rep Kenson Casimir would actually happen.

Based on the information that they have received, Mr. Kenson Casimir did not consult nor did he seek approval from the Ministry of Health and the Royal St Lucia Police Force. He also failed to adequately discuss with the president of the Gros Islet vendors association. Information reaching us is that he has even clashed with his own town council based on his arrogant and selfish approach to handling the situation.

The lack of consultation coupled with the increasing COVID-19 numbers and concerns from the police had already fueled speculation that the event would not go ahead.

Mr. Casimir was observed on Monday frantically making phone calls trying to get the necessary approvals. Now vendors, restaurants and bars have wasted investments that they have made in preparation for the return of the street party which has now been officially cancelled.
