The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for North America, Carlos Ron, delivered on Monday to the new charge of business of the US Embassy in Venezuela, Christopher Lambert, a note of protest since the US representative held a meeting with the National Assembly in contempt last Friday.

The Bolivarian Government states in the note that this interventionist act also represents a serious ignorance on the part of the United States of the legitimate and constitutional authorities of the country, according to the Foreign Ministry in a press release.

Therefore, the Bolivarian Government reminds the US that such actions are stipulated in the Vienna Convention, which governs the actions of diplomatic agents in the host country and "constitute an aggression by the US Embassy to the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people and government, "the note said.

The deputy minister explained to Lambert that these interventionist actions seek to obstruct the invitations of the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, to establish with the US diplomatic relations and dialogue based on respect; and the recognition of legitimate, democratic and constitutional Venezuelan institutions.

Lambert replaced Tom Robinson, who on May 22nd was expelled by President Maduro for continuous interventionist actions against the people and the Bolivarian Government, which contravenes diplomatic agreements and mutual respect.
