Venezuela rejects aggressions of the EU against peace and sovereignty

By AVN

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejected on Monday the unilateral measures imposed against eleven high officials of the Venezuelan State by the European Union (EU), which incurs "a clear interference in sovereign affairs" of the South American country.

Among the officials of these maneuvers are the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodriguez, and the Vice President for the Economic Area, Tareck El Aissami.

Through a statement, the national government warns that these measures undermine political peace, serenity and dialogue between Venezuelans.

Likewise, it condemns the "flagrant subordination of the European Union to the Trump Administration, emulating its actions of aggression against Venezuela, designed by the most extreme and warlike sectors of that government."

Here is the full statement:

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the continued and intrusive aggression of the European Union, which constitutes a clear interference in the sovereign affairs of our country, by adopting alleged restrictive measures contrary to international law against eleven high officials of the Venezuelan State, approved today by the Foreign Affairs Council.

The European Union undermines political peace in Venezuela by meddling in its internal affairs and endeavoring to apply coercive measures that undermine tranquility and dialogue between Venezuelans.

It is surprising the blatant subordination of the European Union to the Trump Administration, emulating its actions of aggression against Venezuela, designed by the most extremist and warlike sectors of that government. The multipolar world expects independence in the conduct of the European Union, given the evidence and the danger of the resurgence of unilateralism.

The Bolivarian Government reiterates to the European Union that Venezuela will not accept threats from any power or group of countries coalesced with imperial reminiscences.

Venezuela takes the opportunity to reiterate that the Venezuelan people are sovereign and independent, that their democratic institutions arise from universal suffrage and that they will respond to all aggressions with due proportionality, enforcing the principle of non-interference, respect for national sovereignty and self-determination.
