Woman dead after bee attack in Vieux Fort

A woman was attacked by a swamp of bees on 15th July 2022 at about 3pm. The deceased is identified as 55 year old Margaret Matthew, a resident of Grace, Vieux Fort.
According to reports, the incident occurred at the beehive farm of Orising Brothers Honey Producers. Margaret who is partially blind ended on the beehive farm unknowingly after losing her bearings.
She was transported to the St Jude hospital where she passed away the next day.
A post mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
